The MCB Primo Card is essentially a credit card and to prevent people from borrowing money they can't repay, sometimes they will hold an amount of money equal to the limit of the card (in your case Rs2,500).

This means you're free to buy anything up to that value in store or online. If you want to buy something which is more expensive than Rs2,500, you will have to add the difference on your card. You can do that by going to a branch or transfer the money yourself through Internet Banking.

My primo card has a limit of Rs5,000 and when I wanted to book flight tickets from Air Mauritius costing Rs72,000, I transferred Rs67,000 from my MCB savings account to my Primo card and the booking went through fine.

Hope that clears things up for you.

As long as you have money, you can recharge it as many times as you want, whenever you want to :)

It takes about 30 mins to get on your credit card but it can take a couple of days to show the credit card transactions on Internet Banking.

If the transaction has gone through fine, then you can make your purchase after the 30 mins period. If you really want to know whether the money has been transferred, you can always call customer service. I used to transfer money and after half an hour, call customer service to make sure the money was transferred but after a while, I just decided to make my purchases. Worst case scenario, the transaction is going to be rejected because you don't have enough money on the card.
