How can I create a paypal account? Any safe way to avoid frauding? I have this friend that told me to create a bank account where I can put a certain amount when I need to, that way when there is no money on the account no fraud can be done.

Any tips are welcomed thanks in advance.

The procedures to open a Paypal account has already been discussed here.

You can most certainly open another bank account to use explicitly for Paypal transactions and only put the money you require to make purchases. A simple option, however, is to use the SBM Smile Card.

Although by doing this, limiting the amount of funds available in your Paypal account, it will prevent fraud to a degree (stop people from withdrawing more money than what you put on there), I think the main thing to remember when shopping online is to only use safe websites.

So buy from reputable websites eg ebay, amazon and check for SSL certificates on others. Paypal itself has a lot of protection for buyers and in the unlikely event that fraud is detected, you will be able to recover your money.
