Applied for the renewal of my occupation permit as self employed, I am in Mauritius since 3 years and applied for renewal so how much time does it take to get the permit renewed after submitting the application?

If the required turnover is fulfilled for 3 consecutive years, can they still refuse? Leaving own home and settling down in a different country for 3 years and don't get the permit renewed is just like a shock of life and it turns the future upside down as it takes a lot of emotional and financial wealth to take the giant leap to settle down in another country...

Hope they would renew my permit ..waiting for a respectable justified good news as it's difficult to earn bread when you are honest and hard working..

Kindly help me procure the right exact info...wanted to mention that it's really nice of you to help anyone and everyone on almost anything..two words for you GOD BLESS..

It's difficult to tell how long it's going to take to get your permit renewed and whether it will be successful. I've read about many horror stories where self employed people meeting the criteria for Occupation Permit (and often exceeding them in terms of cash flow) had their applications refused and were asked to take the next flight back to their country.

In Mauritius, unfortunately, things are not black and white and political influence is very high. If you know the right people, you can easily get clearance for things you need and if you don't, then it's always a 50/50 chance no matter how strong a case you have.

I can understand how stressful this is but can only keep my fingers crossed for you and hope you receive the good news soon.
