I am planning to buy a large printer for my business, which i will place in a room in my house.I will not make any additional modification to the structure of my house/room. Do i need any specific permit? Thank you.

If you're not making structural changes to your house and the business you do will not affect your neighbours (eg noise), then you may not need a Building and Land Use (BLP) permit.
However you will have to get a Trade Licence from the Municipality where you live. This allows you to do business in Mauritius.

and i'll add make sure to separate your home and work electrical system else you'll pay commercial tariffs for both
