It's been established that mauritians can't receive and/or withdraw money from their paypal accounts. What is the best alternative that works? I have tried moneybookers but unfortunately the verification transaction fails every time. p.s Has anybody tried neteller ?

you can receive refunds, but not money.

according to a mate of mine you might receive money but it will only be on your paypal nor on the card.

Never heard of Neteller before but I would contact Moneybookers first to see if they can help sort out the problem you're having.

Did you try SBM or MCB payment gateway? This could work really well if your target customers are going to be Mauritians as seeing those local banks may boost their confidence in buying online.

I suggest looking at 2checkout as an alternative to Paypal and Moneybookers.

I contaced SBM (i'm using SBM Smile Card) and found out that it may be a problem with the policies of Moneybookers.
Rather than going through the various states of exasperation that accompany contacting online customer services, i tried neteller and was set up in less than five minutes.

Thank you for your response!

SBM Smile Card is for making purchases on the Internet and it doesn't let you receive money so how is that linked to your question? It's not even a bank account to start with, it's just a prepaid card. You need a proper bank a/c with Moneybookers so that you can withdraw your money. Are you a Neteller agent?

I had no idea it does not let me receive money. Very sorry for the confusion. After reading your comment i re-read the terms and conditions and i feel stupid. I really thought i could use it both ways.

Of course i'm not a neteller agent. Why would a neteller agent spam mauritian pages? There are larger audiences out there.

Guess i'll have to try again with Moneybookers.

There's no need to feel stupid; the purpose of Clever Dodo is to help people with their questions.

You'll be surprised to know what extent spammers would go to fulfil their intent. My comment was only meant to taunt you :)

But yes, definitely give Moneybookers another try because it is more accepted than Neteller.
