The cost varies according to the weight of the parcel to be delivered. I think with the standard service, the recipient will receive the parcel within 3-5 working days. There might be quicker options if you pay more.
I've been to the Post Office to enquire about the charges and they told me that for a parcel weighing 1kg, you will pay Rs10 for delivery. If you want registered post, you need to add Rs14 more. So here's an example for you:
Parcel weighing 3 Kg
Cost of delivery : 3 x 10 = Rs30
If you want it registered, that is, someone needs to sign when taking the parcel from the postman, then the charges would be:
Total delivery charges : 30 + 14 = Rs44
Hope this clears everything for you.
PS : This is for inland deliveries only. The rates are for anywhere in Mauritius. International shipping varies according to the country it is going to.
Is there too many procedure to deliver a parcel by post?
No, you just need to package the parcel properly and take it to your nearest post office and everything will be done easily over the counter.
I've updated my answer above to give you rates on delivery fees.
