Suggest a part time job that a student living in Mauritius can do it and it should be of the following criteria also:
1)it should be a well paid job.
2)it should not be that difficult job to find.
3)that job must not be too difficult to handle meaning that person can cope with his studies and the job.

Hmm.

  1. What's your definition of well paid? How much are you expecting?
  2. Even finding a full time job is difficult (just saw the news today and many graduates are complaining they're not getting jobs) and you're asking for an easy part time job!
  3. People in Mauritius (unlike Europe) are not familiar with the idea of working while studying and most of them find it difficult to manage both whether or not the job is easy to do.

The problem really lies in the mentality of Mauritians and the culture that we've been so accustomed to. Employers do not really want flexible hours, so that's the first hurdle. Part time jobs are mostly non-existant here because employers prefer freelancers as they call it but to me, it's mostly commission based jobs (sell insurance policies, sell cosmetics, sell computers etc). We've been brought up in such a way that we are either studying or working but not necessarily both. You are encouraged to focus on your studies wholly; no matter how much a parent has to struggle, they will refrain from asking their children to work part-time (even when they reach uni age).

Couple this with the fact that people believe a part time job is easy. Some say, it's easy to make money online though they themselves have not earned anything this way yet. Others think that you shouldn't give 100% in a part time job because this is just a means to an end. Wrong. You either work hard or someone else will do it for you.

A friend of mine earned a bit more than Rs8000 for an online research and writing job in a month but she had to work very hard for the money. So if you really want to make some money while studying, then you will have to change your mindset because here in Mauritius, your options are limited.

Change mindset!!!do you mean I think I should never imagine working while studying?

Well you are right what you said that part-time job and studying is non-existent.Its a wrong mentality because people in most cases would only run after a job as they will not get it no matter have hard they studied or good degree they have.

Change mindset as in thinking part time jobs are easy. You need to be ready to put in the effort.

'Well paid' is a joke in this country. I can tell from experience.
Even clothing shops give you more than a part-timer working in a call center.

1) How much is well paid? Rs5,000, Rs10,000, Rs15,000?
2) A job that is not hard to find? lol I know many people who graduated 3 years ago and still cannot find a job in their field, part time or full time.
3) People find it hard enough to manage working plus having a family but still they do it because they have to.

I wish you luck but in Mauritius your chances for all the above are very slim, if you want success there are no short cuts just long hours and sacrifices.

A payment of about 5,000.
Can there be any other job apart from freelancing?

Not really, freelancing is the best way to go, its flexible so you decide when to work and how many hours to put in. Unless you can get a part time job in say Pizza Hut, Mcdonalds, KFC or other fast food outlets I think part time jobs in Mauritius is very slim pickings.

Have something to say?
