Just opened a Restaurant. And need to do some publicity. Can i get some ideas of the different types of Marketing that can be done. And also i want to advertise on the net but dont know where to start. A friend told me that i can send my menu daily via email addresses but is there any place where i can get email addresses of companies or individuals and is it legal to send them emails without prior asking them ?

It's illegal to send unsolicited emails to people. If you want to do email marketing, there are companies like BlueFish which have a database of users who have opted in to receive promotions and things like that.

You can do paid ads through networks like Google Adwords but I think in your situation, the best thing to do is advertise on Facebook.
