Where do freelancers in Mauritius have a great chance to succeed?

Writing, web & game design could be done online. I've seen a few mauritians design premium wordpress themes and submit it for download at a decent price. There are many websites for freelancers as well and anyone in the world can join them and bid on projects.

For music, I suppose YouTube could be a channel but as it stands now, you won't get very far. You need to have the right contacts in Mauritius for this.

Clothing design is not going to get you very far unless you launch a brand and spend money advertising it.

All in all mauritian freelancers have a better chance abroad (I mean targeting people worldwide) than here.

This is a hard one because I found for Mauritius its more on how you market your product/business. Also Mauritius tends to work more on word of mouth rather than quality/experience etc. I see some really good business ideas and websites but unfortunately no customers or interest from the public, then I see a badly created websites that are a real embarrassment yet they get customers, so weird.

Personally I think it depends on who you know and how much money you have to 'start up', I know a girl who is rich and started her own line of clothes, her parents have a factory so everything is made in Mauritius. Unfortunately the clothes are badly designed (doesn't fit right) poor quality (they have holes in them or damage easily) yet she does well by selling them at ridiculously high prices.

I don't want you to think I'm putting you off because being self employed is the best! But for Mauritius certain things are harder to do, you could be successful in writing, game design and music outside of Mauritius by going through third parties to get work etc. Web design and clothing design in Mauritius I find are a little competitive at the moment, but hey that's just my opinion.
