On the 5th of May 2011, Google has made Adsense payment available via Western Union in Mauritius. Before, the only method of payment was the check and that was a really slow process. Bearing in mind that Adsense pays you 1 month after you’ve reached the minimum payment threshold which is currently at $100, it might seem like forever before you can actually use the money you’ve made through Adsense.

For the publishers of Mauritius, which I believe is on the rise, getting their standard delivery checks can take upto 4 weeks to reach them after Google made the payment. It’s a considerable amount of time and can be quite discouraging. There was, however, a second method of payment which would enable you to get your check within 5-7 days but that would come at a cost of $25, which is a lot of money if you’re not making much from Adsense.

The introduction of Western Union Quick Cash payment for Adsense publishers in Mauritius will bring a smile of the faces of many webmasters as they will be able to get hold of their cash the following day after payment is made to them. Here’s how Mauritian Adsensers can collect their money from a Western Union agent:

  1. Bring a National Identity card, passport or driving licence
  2. Sender’s information (Google Inc address)
  3. Amount you’re collecting
  4. Your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) found on your payment page in your Adsense account

If you have opted to be paid by Western Union, make sure you collect the money within 2 months, otherwise it will be paid back to your adsense account. Also you’ll be able to take payment in the local currency (that is the Mauritian Rupee) or US dollars.

To find out your nearest Western Union agent, see this link http://www.payment-solutions.com/agent.a...

So if you’re an adsense publisher in Mauritius, let us know if you have already switched to the new payment system and how you feel about it all.
